How to Order Pins

How to order pins is the same path every time.  You bring the idea.  We draw it, you approve it, then we make it.  Production does not start until the proof is approved and the order is paid.

1. Sketch it out

A sketch, some artwork, an idea.  It does not have to be finished art.  A napkin sketch and the colors you want is enough to start.

2. Upload the design idea

Submit a design request with your idea and artwork.  Tell us the pin style, size, quantity, and the date you need them.  That is the pin design quote.

3. Refine the detail

Together we revise and tweak your idea until it is right.  Lines get cleaned up for enamel, colors get matched, and the size gets checked against the price chart.

4. Approve the design

Approve the proof and we get right to work bringing the idea to life.  Nothing is molded until you say it is the pin you want.

5. Enjoy what you created

Going from "I drew this" to "I made this" never gets old.

Easy as 1, 2, "Look at what I made!"

Art Specs

Vector art is the best starting point.  AI, EPS, CDR, SVG, or a PDF with fonts outlined scales cleanly for enamel and die work.  JPG, PNG, and phone photos still work.  Designers rebuild the file when the lines are not production-ready.  Full art specs, accepted formats, and what we need on the request are on the pin artwork requirements page.

Size It Right

Pick the size before the extras.  Size is the greater of width or height.  A 2.00" by 1.00" pin prices as 2.00".  Most trading teams order 1.50", 1.75", or 2.00".  The average trading pin is 1.75".  A larger pin trades better than a small pin loaded with bling.  Use the pin size comparison to see each size next to everyday objects, then check pin prices.

Production Time

From the date you place the order, standard production and shipping is typically within 30 calendar days.  Rush production with 15-calendar-day delivery is available for an additional 15% of the order.  Photoscreen and offset print are the faster processes when the event date is close.  Soft enamel and hard enamel take longer because the color is filled by hand.  Rush pins cover the accelerated schedules: soft enamel and UV print in as little as 10 days, offset print in as little as 5 days, when the design and quantity allow it.  Put the needed date on the design request so the schedule is honest.
